On an evening out Alice met Bob. They have a good time and subsequently end up getting laid. The next morning Bob leaves without a trace, but a few weeks later Alice found herself pregnant. Since she is a secular pro-life activist she decides to keep her child, with the result that Alice becomes a single mother. Unable to locate her child’s father, she has sole responsibility to raise her child.

The prospect of artificial sperm and eggs

Robin Baker describes in his book Sex in the Future, a new method of contraception. This system consists of three components: sterilization, storage of sperm and eggs, in vitro fertilization. According to Baker this system has the following benefits. First sterilization is quite effective in preventing unwanted pregnancies. Real rights

In the philosophy on property, one will soon encounter the bundle theory of property. Rather than being a single right, property consist of a set of rights, such as the right to use a good, to exclude others from using a particular good and to transfer ownership to others. Emphyteusis

Emphyteusis is a type of land lease that exist in many civil law jurisdictions. Technically emphyteusis is a so-called real right, which means that it can be sold, inherited or mortgaged by the lessee. Basically the lessee can act as if he were they landowner, while the legal owner is for the duration of the lease deprived of the enjoyment of his property, hence he is referred to as “bare owner”.
